How many pictures will we receive?
A minimum of 35, in both black & white and color.
How should we dress for our family session?
Whatever is in your closet already! Be comfortable and be you. That being said, try to avoid graphics or fluorescent colors....plain and simple is always safe and timeless! Also, think coordinating, not matching, when planning for the family wardrobe.
What’s the best time to have a session?
If you want my best work like you see in my portfolio, any outdoor sessions should take place about an hour or two before sunset. However, if we decide on an indoor session we have more flexibility.
Where will our session take place?
It is up to you! I offer both in-home and on location sessions. On location sessions can be a park, a visit to a coffee shop or a stroll through downtown, etc. I have my favorites too, so just ask :).
What should I expect during the session?
Lots of fun! We will essentially just be hanging out, playing, laughing and having a good time! I will subtly “pose” you occasionally for some family portraits but mostly I will be guiding and encouraging you to just be with your family. If we do an in-home session I’ll encourage the kids to show me their rooms, we can play with toys, do a craft, read a book, make a snack together, we’ll “pose” for a few family shots on the couch or the master bedroom, and if the weather is good we can head out to the yard for more fun. If we do an on-location session we can play at the park, go for a hike, visit a coffee shop, stop for an ice-cream, or go for a stroll downtown. Please note that if you choose an in-home session, where the photos take place will depend a lot on the natural light in your house. If for whatever reason light is lacking we may need to step outside for the majority of the photos.
What happens after the session?
After the session I will post a sneak peek on Facebook and Instagram (let me know if you don't want me to share on social media). Within two weeks after your session I'll send you a link to your online gallery where you can view and download all the fully edited, high-resolution images. My session fees are simple and all-inclusive, meaning the digital files are yours to keep forever and you have standard printing rights. Because of this, however, it is VERY important that you back up your images by placing a second copy on an external drive or the cloud or both!
